Welcome to Le Tournesol
Our beautiful gite, Le Tournesol, which opened in 2017 following a complete renovation, is full of character, retaining a wealth of beams and original features, whilst also providing the necessary comforts for every day living.
This gorgeous property sleeps up to four people very comfortably in two bedrooms, each with its own shower room. There is a sitting room complete with wood burner, a large very well-equipped kitchen/dining room as well as complimentary WiFi. During their stay, guests enjoy sole use of the 11m x 5m swimming pool and there is an abundance of outside space to play in or to simply sit and soak up the extensive views across open countryside, perhaps with a glass of local wine in hand!
The gite is situated in an extremely tranquil location surrounded by fields, where the local crop is often sunflowers or barley. Deer are frequent visitors along with other wildlife such as hares, hedgehogs, kestrels, buzzards and red-legged partridges. Wild orchids are often found on the property.
The property is just over 1km (10 minute walk or 2 minute car ride) outside the small village of Bourg-de-Visa which provides a full and varied range of local amenities, including a bar/restaurant, boulangerie, post office, general store/tabac, garage, pharmacy and vet. During July and August a weekly marché gourmande is held each Tuesday evening in the square where the elaborate covered market structure was designed by Victor Ballard who designed structures for Napoleon! Here you can buy food and drink to enjoy whilst listening to live music and soaking up the atmosphere.
If you wish to explore further afield, there are many wonderful places to visit including historic towns, picturesque villages, chateaux, museums, local markets, vineyards, grottos and lakes. In addition a wide variety of sporting activities are available, such as walking, horse-riding, golfing, canoeing and cycling.
